Travel to Tajikistan: Tour 6

Day 1: Dushanbe
Guide will meet and accompany you to Dushanbe. In course of the our you will explore the most prominent sights of the city like Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. After it you will visit National Park where you can take photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world - 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. Next destination of the tour is Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. Moreover you will have a great opportunity to explore Asian bazar where you can find anything. During these tours you will see the main attractions and learn interesting facts of the city. Night is in a hotel.

Day 2: Dushanbe - Iskanderkul Lake
In course of the travel you will visit alpine lake - Iskanderkul with the altitude 2 255 m. a. s. l. This beautiful lake locates at the Fann Mountains. This sight is very gorgeous even among countries of Central Asia. You will drive via Anzob Pass the altitude of which is the 3 372 m. Here you will be able to see one of the most picturesque views of the nature. You will have a walk along it beaches; this is the best place for a rest. Also we will hike 40 minutes to see a waterfall. Tajikistan takes the second place among the CIS countries for volume of water resources. The highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries in Tajikistan it has more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. Night is in a homestay.

Day 3: Iskanderkul Lake
You will be transferred to Fann Mountains for hiking. Tours to the Fann mountains are very popular and on it you will be able to learn that in ancient times the mountains was known as "Kuhistan". It can be translated as "Mountainous Country". Here lay more than 30 pure and variegated lakes of different size and shape. You will be amazed to see a lot of tourist as well as locals who like to enjoy the trekking and climbing. The area has many unique flora and fauna. Spend enjoyable time on the tour to Tajikistan. Your night is in a homestay.

Day 4: Iskanderkul Lake - Dushanbe - Hissor
You will return to the capital of Tajikistan. The road will go via Anzob pass, which altitude is 3 372 m a.s.l. and tunnel of Isticlol. On the way you will have a great time while taking a lot of interesting photos. You visit Hissor fortress of VII-XVII centuries. Hisor fortress (VII-XVII centuries), 35 km from Dushanbe. It was very walled area and citadel. It was the residence of Emir's Bukhara delegation. It is located on the high hill and was well defended with 1 m thick walls and loopholes for guns and cannons. In the fortress you can find a pool and a garden and across from the fortress there was a busy market square with a caravanserai and shops. You will be surprised to see just the entrance gate with its two imposing towers and the recently restored monuments of "Madrasa I Kuhna" (new school of 16th-17th centuries), mosque; the mausoleum of "Mahdumi Azam" (16th century). Night is in a hotel.

Day 5: Dushanbe - Norak - Kalai Khum
Morning drive to Kalai Khum village. On the way you will visit Norak water reservoir or so called  Tajik Sea. On the way you will see Shuraba pass that is located along Afghanistan border on the elevation of 2 267 m. This part will amaze you by its unique mountains - it is already Territory of Pamir Mountains. You will learn that these mountains inspired many explorers like Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. Due to this wonderful tour you will also have an opportunity to enjoy this breathtaking view. You will drive along natural border - Pyanj River. Those who saw these giant mountains compare it with giant mountain system the ocean of white and blue mountains. This night is in a home stay.

Day 6: Kalai Khum - Khorog
Morning transfer to Khorog that is considered to be one the smallest cities on the worlds map. This city is encircled by rocky mountains. This town was built in the merge of the 3 rivers where Shokhdara river and Ghund river flow into Pyanj river. While driving to the city you will meet Pamir people. Due to the travel you will see that Pamir people are different from Tajik people. You will be impressed to see that mostly Pamir people have blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. Pamirs Mountains are the highest mountains in the world with human population after the Himalayas in Tibet. The lifestyle of pamir people is different from Tajik people due to the harsh life in mountains. Night is in a guesthouse.

Day 7: Khorog
In course of the tour you will explore the significant sights of the city. Your first sight to explore will be the Botanical Garden. During the travel you will see that the city has a lot of gardens. Over the east part of the city at an altitude of 2320m above sea level on the coastal zone of the Shakhdara River is situated the renowned Pamir Botanical Garden with unique plants, brought from different parts of the world. After it you will head on to city park and handicraft shop, museum. To enjoy the bustling life of the city you will visit local bazar. You will enjoy not only interesting tour but also learn about the main highlights of Khorog and Pamirian people.

Day 8: Khorog - Kalai Khum  
You will drive back to Kalai Khum by using the same road as you had before. Due to the mountains which altitude are over 6 000 meters it was possible to build only 1 road. By riving here you will enjoy the breathtaking views of Pamirs with its pristine environment. The travel will help you to learn more about the ethnography, history and everyday life of mountain dwellers and with this imagine how the history of humanity evolved as in the story of creation. You will have a break at the small village where you can meet and communicate with local people and to see their life. You will see human settlements on both sides of the river in narrow mountain valleys. On the other side of the river you will see Afgan stony villages and gardens. Night is in a home stay.

Day 9: Kalai Khum - Khoburubot - Dushanbe
Today your destination is te capital of Tajikistan. To reach it you will drive through Khoburubot Pass which altitude is 3 252 that lays on Western Pamir Tract. The road will mesmerize you by the picturesque views of river valley and amazing gorges that will be a perfect background for the photos. On the way you will drive via a lot of village where you can see hardworking, hospitable, and kind-hearted Tajik people. You will be surprised to know that even now they still follow traditions and respect folklore. This tour is perfect for those who like to experience something new. Night is in a hotel.

Day 10: Flight
In the morning is transfer to the airport.
