Travel to Tajikistan: Tour 8

Day 1: Dushanbe
You will be met at the airport and transferred to the capital of Tajikistan. Upon arrival you will have a guided city tour to learn the history of this country. You will explore the most prominent sights of the city like Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. In course of the tour you will see National park of it and take photos Ministry of Inner Affairs and National flag. The size of this flag will impress you by its size - 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long, it is known as the biggest flag in the world. Then is the excursion in the Central Museum and Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. Furthermore you will have an opportunity to visit Asian bazar where you can find fruits and vegetables. In course of the tour you will enjoy the main highlights of Dushanbe and facts about Tajik people. Night is in a hotel.

Day 2: Dushanbe - Norak - Kalai Khum
Morning drive to Kalai Khum village. On the way to it you will have a stop to explore the Norak water reservoir known as Tajik Sea. During the drive to it you will pass the Shuraba pass which located at 2 267 m high as well as Afghanistan border. Then you will enjoy the outstanding view of Pamir Mountains. During the time many famous travelers witness these mountains like Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. And now you also have a great opportunity to be here. You will drive along natural border - Pyanj River. While being here many of them said that Pamir mountain is system of the ocean of white and blue mountains. This night you will spend in a home stay to see the way of local people's life.

Day 3: Kalai Khum - Khorog
Today your destination is Khorog. During the tour you will be surprised to know that this is one of the tiniest cities on the map of the world. You will find this interesting city among rocky mountains. This city appeared in the confluence of three rivers, where the Shokhdara River and Ghund River flow into Pyanj River.  During the drive you will have a great chance to meet the Pamir people. It should be noted that their appearance, they are different from Tajiks. Pamir people have blond hair, fair skin and blue eyes. Pamirs Mountains are the highest mountains in the world with human population after the Himalayas in Tibet. Due to the harsh life in mountains traditions of local people are different from Tajik people. Night is in a guesthouse.

Day 4: Khorog
The day is dedicated to explore the city. You will visit the Botanical Garden. In course of the tour you will see that the city has many gardens. The renowned Pamir Botanical Garden can be found at east part of the city at an altitude of 2320m above sea level on the coastal zone of the Shakhdara River. This sight is known for unique plants. After it you are going to explore the city park and handicraft shop, museum, local bazar. Tour will show you the main highlights of Khorog as well as information about Pamirian people.

Day 5: Khorog - Langar
Today you will have a tour to the next destination. Langar village can be found in the heart of Asia. In Pamir you can fully enjoy highly mountains, pristine waters of lakes and rivers, wide valleys and dry deserts. For many years people called this place as the "Roof of the World." Today you will understand why. The altitude of Pamir varies 3,500 to 4,200 meters above sea level. The people of Pamir mountains were isolated for many years from each other and because of it they developed different dialects and even different languages. In course of the tour you will have lot of photo stops where you can capture a lot of vivid places as well as exploring them. Night is in a home stay.

Day 6: Langar
The day is dedicated for enjoying the tour in Langar village and Wakhi people. You will start your day by hiking 2 hours above Langar village. Here you will witness petroglyphs as well as the Hindu Kush range. Tours to this area will show you such interesting sights like Abreshim Qala (Silk fort) and the shrine of Shoh Qambari Oftob. Overnight is in home stay.

Day 7: Langar - Yashil Kul Lake - Bulunkul Lake - Murgab
Today your destinations are Yashil Kul and Bulunkul (Blue lakes). To see them you will have a drive to the Murghab district which is located on the altitude of 3 700 meters above sea level. The color of water of Bulunkul will bewitch you by the interaction of purple and blue in the sunlight. In the lake you can find many species of fish. In addition there will be possibility to witness domestic animals, sharing features of cow and sheep, traditionally used as a beast of burden apart from giving milk and meat products - yaks. You will drive through Khargush pass on altitude of 4 344 m. Overnight is in a guesthouse. Night is in a guesthouse.

Day 8: Kyzyl Art border
In the morning is transfer to Kyrgyz border.
