If you are tired of civilization there is a great opportunity to be able to feel the freedom of mind. You will have a trekking tour to enjoy uninjured nature of mountainous Kyrgyzstan and to visit a number of lakes of uncontaminated glittering water. During this tour you will learn about Kyrgyz traditions, customs and culture, because the Kyrgyz being nomads for thousand years succeeded to cherish all their amazing traditions and customs to these days.
Day 1: Bishkek - Chon Kemin valley (170 km - 4 h)
You are met by your guide at Manas Airport and escorted to Bishkek City (30 min. drive), where you will start the day with a breakfast in Dungan (Chinese Muslims) guesthouse. In case you reach too early we can offer you a nice room with comfortable beds and you will be able to take a shower and have some rest. The half day is spent for Bishkek City Tour, including lunch. The tour comprises visits to central Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Pobeda Square (Victory Square), National philharmonic, Oriental Bazaar, Art Gallery and much of other places. After we start our way to Chon Kemin valley, on the way visiting the Burana Museum, a site of a medieval city of Balasagun, the capital of the Karahanid Kaganate, a Turkic dynasty of the 11 century. Dinner and overnight is in Ashuu guesthouse in the village of Chon Kemin.
Day 2: Chon Kemin valley - Tamga (150 km - 4 h)
After breakfast you will have time for taking pictures to capture all the beauty of Chon Kemin Valley, large alpine valley. Here you have a great opportunity to see real Kyrgyz nomads who live in yurts almost like 1000 years ago in the Tien- Shan mountains enclosed by fast rivers, fir trees. Before our departure to Tamga village, we will stop for a walk 2 hours in Konorchek labyrinths, where at the end of the gorge you will see a magic view of red mountains. Then picnic is planned here. Then we drive to Tamga village that is situated on the southern shore of Issik Kul lake, the second largest mountain lake in the world and the biggest lake in Kyrgyzstan. There is a spa in Tamga where soviet spacemen used to recover and train their skills, as the elevation and climate created just perfect conditions to do that. On the way to Tamga we will visit a famous hunter with golden eagles whose name is Arstan. He is going to tell us about his birds. After it we can do some photos of the eagles. Accommodation is in guesthouse (1600m).
Day 3: Tamga - Barskoon gorge - Dunguromo Pass (3570 m) - Dugurotmo gorge (5 hours)
Barskoon village is the first target of today's trek, where we put forward our trip right after the breakfast. There we will visit the family who make yurts. This will be an incredible opportunity for you to see how these amazing nomadic dwellings are made. Then we continue our way to Barskoon gorge, one of the most picturesque places in Terskey Ala Too ridge. You will see one of the highest waterfalls in Kyrgyzstan at the elevation of 2500 meters above sea level that makes 60 meters high, as well as the bust of astronauts with a sign of first man in the space - Urii Gagarin. From here we start our trekking. We start ascending to Dunguromo pass (3100 m) passing through which we find ourselves in a delightful valley Dunguromo. A few kilometers down from the pass we stop for the camping. Dinner will give us chance to share with first the impressions. Night is in tents at the altitude of 2850 m.
Day 4: Dungurotmo gorge - Zauka Pass (3750 m) - Chokolu Lake (7 hours)
Today we have an early breakfast. We have a « vertical » hike to the Chokolu Lake over Zauka Pass historical pass, the part of the great Silk Road where prominent travelers such as Ella Mayart 1932, Semenov Tyanshyanskii 1856 passed this place in former days as well as the Chinese Muslims are also acknowledged to come from China 200 years ago. The landscape is more or less flat, from plants succeeds fine grass and moss, the climate is close to the tundra climate. Approaching closer to the lake we will make our camp for the night. Night is in tents at the elevation of 3800 m.
Day 5: Chokolu Lake - Zauka Pass (3750 m) - Dzukuu gorge - Ashu Kashka Suu gorge
After nice breakfast we will prepare all our equipment and belongings to immerse them all on the horse and we will go further. After passing Zauka pass we will reach the Dzhukuu valley. Then we go down the gorge about 20 km and approach the foot of the Ashu Kashka Suu gorge. This is our camp area. On the way we will encounter the local nomads who live here in summer time. You will be pleasantly amazed Kyrgyz nomads hospitality. We will try Kyrgyz cheese there and if you want you can try Kyrgyz beer which is made from fermented mare's milk. Dinner and overnight is decided in tents at the altitude of 2770 m.
Day 6: Ashu Kashka Suu gorge - Ashu Tor Pass (3490 m) - Jukuchak gorge (7 hours)
Today we will start our hiking up to the gorge Ashu Kashka Suu. Having reached the foot of the pass, we make a short halt for lunch and then we will have to climb to the Ashu Tor Pass (3490 m). After the pass we will go into the Dzhukuchak gorge where is the warm mineral springs. There we find a wonderful chance to take a bath with hot mineral water which we all dreamed of for now 4 days of our trek. After good bath your guide will suggest you a local beer. Dinner and overnight is arranged in tents at an altitude of 2500 m.
Day 7: Dzhukuchak gorge - Orto Bulak Pass (2900 m) - Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge
In the morning we set up our trip towards the Kichi Kyzyl Suu Valley. Our first endpoint point is the territory of Issyk Kul forestry that is located in the Dzhukuchak gorge. Further we have to climb to the pass Orto Bulak (2900 m). Then we approach the Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge. This I s a place where we break our camp for an overnight. This place is well-known for its incredible beauty and dramatic views of mountains. Dinner and sharing the impressions of the passed day. The altitude here of 2300 m.
Day 8: Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge - Chon Kyzyl Suu gorge - Jili Suu water warm springs
ChonKyzyl Suu is one of the most gorgeous place in Kyrgyzstan from where we start our trekking after the breakfast. First we have to descend to the Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge through the territory of forestry. Then we will go along the Djily Suu Mountains and eventually we end up with Chon Kyzyl Suu gorge. Here we enter the area named as Ak Tash. Then we go up about three miles up to the warm mineral springs where we will just have to swim there and relax. This region boasts with its beauty: nomads and glorious mountains will make you feel like you are on the top of the world! Night is in tents at the elevation of 2150 m.
Day 9: Chon Kyzyl Suu gorge - Kok Dzhayyk Pass (2700 meters) - Jeti Oguz gorge
This is going to be the last day of trekking. After breakfast we begin in the direction of the Jeti Oguz gorge - one of the most popular places to visit in our country. First, we go down to the place of Ak Tash, where we cross the river Kyzyl Suu (Red River). After that we commence the ascent to the pass Kok Dzhayyk. The road goes through a little pine forest, which will impress you with its silence. It seems like the whole world is looking at you from there. After we pass the forest we will have a look at the Jeti Oguz gorge which is going to impress you for sure. In a couple of kilometers we reach the yurt camp Kok Dzhayyk where we spend the night. Dinner and overnight is served in yurts at the altitude of 2300 m.
Day 10: Jety Oguz gorge - Karakol (30 km - 1 h)
After nice breakfast our journey will continue in the direction of the capital of Issik Kul region. Check-in hotel Elita**. Today we have on our itinerary Prjvalsky Memorial Complex, devoted to the outstanding Russian explorer of Central Asia . In order to understand the Kyrgyz life of the 19th century we are going to visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the wooden mosque, built in the Chinese style. In the evening we will go to Dyishin village, where we will be treated a dinner by Chinese Muslims, here they are called Dungans, who arrived from Dunhuang, central China. Chinese Muslims came to Kyrgyzstan 200 years ago when there was a war between Chinese and not Chinese nationalities and religions. They are very good at agriculture and very renowned for traditional cuisine. We will have an opportunity to try different types of salads and of course national dungan bread. You will have dinner once we come back to hotel.
Day 11: Karakol - Kochkor village (330 km - 6 h)
Kochkor village is the first endpoint point of the trip, where we can explorer national traditions and customs, watch the procedure of making traditional Kyrgyz carpets and visit a handicraft museum. Also we will see and participate in the process of settling a yurt, a traditional folding felt house of nomads. In the evening you are going to listen to the Folk-concert. On the way to Kochkor village we will drive along the north shore of Issyk Kul Lake which mean you will see the "pearl of Central Asia"! Dinner in a yurt and carpet-making demonstration will be organized exclusively for you. Overnight is in a guesthouse.
Day 12: Kochkor - Bishkek
Todau you will be transfered to Bishkek. Housing is in a guesthouse. You have some free time for shopping or walking around the city.
Day 13: Bishkek - Europe
Your guide will take you from hotel at the time arranged previously according to your flight details and accompanied to "Manas" Airport.
