Silk Road travel: Tour 2

Day 1: Almaty
Have a great Silk Road tour. Meet the guide and driver who will transfer you to the city. City tour where you can visit the central park and see the development of the Southern capital of Kazakhstan with its sites and highlights. The next destination is Green Bazaar, full of fresh goods, visit Panfilov Park and see the wooden Zenkov Cathedral. Afterwards we will visit the Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame. In the second part of day we will travel to the famous Medeo Gorge. Everyone will admire beauty of the biggest mountain skating rink in the world. Then drive to Kok Tobe hill where the tallest TV tower in the world is located. Have the short ride from the top of the hill to the center of the city by Almaty cableway. Night is in a hotel.

Day 2: Almaty - Issyk - Almaty
Start your tour over one of the most attractive gorges of Trans Ili Alatau located along the Kuldja tract - Issyk Gorge. Get additional information about history and see the burial mounds of Sakas period. On this place see the famous "Golden Man". It is a symbol of Kazakhstan. Then we will visit the State Historical and Cultural Museum Reserve "ISSYK" made to the honor of the history and culture of the Sakas period, comprising a copy of Golden Man and golden items, ancient ceramics, weapon, elements of horse equipment, as well as the model of Sakas burial mound. The next destination is Lake Issyk. It is located on elevation of 1756 meters above sea level. The lake formed 10,000 years ago dam of 300 m high. Night is in a hotel.

Day 3: Almaty - Bishkek
In the morning is transfer Bishkek. It is the capital of the country, located at about 800 meters (2,600 ft) altitude near the northern range of the Kyrgyz Ala Too range. This range is an extension of the Tien Shan Mountains, which rise to 4855 meters and specify an exhilarating backdrop for the city. Then we will have a guided city tour and see Pobeda Square (Victory Square), Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Central Ala Too Square, the National Arts Museum, National Philharmonic etc. Night is in a hotel.  

Day 4: Bishkek - Burana - Issyk Kul northern shore
Today is transfer to Issyk Kul Lake. It is the second biggest alpine lake in the world with the altitude of 1 608 m. above sea level. This lake bordered by mountains and has healing potentials. This lake is never freeze because of salty water. Here we can see Burana Tower of 11^th century and an open-air museum of Balbals or stone warriors. Go to the top of minaret to knowledge the panorama views. Burana Tower served as a sign during the Great Silk Road. Overnight is in a hotel

Day 5: Issyk Kul Lake - Karakol
Having a hearty breakfast, you will drive to Karakol city. On the way you will visit such astonishing place as to see antique stone inscriptions of 800 B.C. These petroglyphs were found more than 2 000 years ago by shamans. Then we will drive to Karakol city lengthways the northern shore of the lake. On the way we will see the Dungan mosque, built in a Chinese style without using pins as well as the old wooden Orthodox Church. Night is in a guesthouse.

Day 6: Karakol - Jeti Oguz - Issyk Kul southern shore - Bishkek
Today's tour purpose is driving to Jeti Oguz. This construction is known for red rock formations and translated as Seven Bulls. Then you will have an opportunity to see Broken Heart Mountain. Climb to the top of it to adore a panorama view of the gorge. We will drive to Bokonbaeva village where you can get acquainted local eagle-hunter. He will show you how he can hunt hares and foxes with wild mountain inhabitants. The we will continue our way to Bishkek. Night is in a hotel.                                                                                   

Day 7: Bishkek - Osh - Guliston - Khudjand
In the morning you will have flight from Bishkek to Osh. Upon reaching we will visit the sacred Suleiman Mountain. It is located in center. It is also the holy place for pilgrims for local Muslims. As a legend says, the biblical prophet Solomon or Suleiman was suppressed at the foot of it. We will criss Tajik Kyrgyz border and drive over Batken region well-known for its apricot trees. On the way we can see the beautiful flower named Aigul. Tajik guide will meet you on the border and transfer to Khujand city. This city is the second largest city in Tajikistan and located at the mouth of the Fergana Valley, with the population of 149,000. It is also the capital of the northernmost province of Tajikistan, now called Sughd. In the afternoon we will visit Cultural Palace of Khujand. It is worth noting that the first president of Tajikistan was chosen over there. On the route see Central Mosque. Night is in a hotel.   

Day 8: Khudjand - Iskanderkul Lake
The group will travel to Iskanderkul Lake located in Fann Mountains with altitude of 2 255 m. a. s. l.  This place is one of the most renowned places in Central Asia. On the beach of this lake you will have walk as well as hike 40 minutes to see outstanding waterfall. Tajikistan is in the second place amongst CIS countries for volume of water resources. The highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries with more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers are here. Night is in a home stay.

Day 9: Iskanderkul Lake - Dushanbe
In the morning is transfer to Dushanbe via Anzob pass of 3 372 m high and tunnel of Isticlol. On the way you will get many photo stops to take vibrant pictures. Then you will have a city tour. It will start with visiting such widespread place as Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. Then we will walk to the National park, see the Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world. Its size is 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. Don't pass by and see the Central Museum. In the afternoon we will visit to Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. Transfer to a hotel. Thank you!

Day 10: Flight
In the morning is transfer to airport. Have a safe flight!
